SPONSORSHIPS AVAILABLE Junior Conservation Camp, sponsored by the WV Department of Environmental Protection, is held each year at Cedar Lakes in Ripley, WV for five days. This year’s camp will be held June 19-23, 2017. The camp is for youth between the ages of 11 and 14 and provides an opportunity for them to become knowledgeable about conservation and the environment. In an effort to help promote the camp and conservation among our youth, the Upper Ohio Conservation District will sponsor two students from each county in the district: Pleasants, Tyler and Wetzel. Sponsorship will cover the $175 cost of the camp, which includes food and lodging. Transportation and any other costs will be the responsibility of the parent or guardian. If you would like to recommend a student or students to be sponsored, please email uocd@wvca.us by March 31, 2017. Once all recommendations are received, they will be reviewed by the UOCD Board and campers will be selected. A copy of the DEP's brochure is attached. |
