The West Virginia Department of Agriculture has shared new rules for bringing warm-blooded animals into the state because of recent New World Screwworm cases in the U.S. These steps help protect WV farms and pets. Key points: * Animals from confirmed NWS areas need a WVDA entry permit at least 48 hours before travel. * Animals from nearby surveillance or high-risk areas need a vet certificate from the past 7 days showing they’re free of NWS. * Federal bird flu rules still apply.
