Public input encouraged to help develop McDowell County flood mitigation strategy

WELCH, W.Va. -- The public's input is encouraged to help develop the McDowell County Flood Mitigation Action Strategy.

This strategy will identify practical, locally informed actions to help reduce flood impacts to homes, businesses, infrastructure, and critical services. A core component of this effort is ensuring that the strategy reflects the experiences, needs, and priorities of local communities who have been directly affected by flooding.

To learn more about this project, please attend one of the meetings on the flyer below. The meetings are on May 5 and May 7.
