The West Virginia Conservation Agency and the Eastern Panhandle Conservation District have taken on a multiyear project to help clean up the Elks Run watershed in Jefferson County. Many recent efforts have centered around best management conservation practices at Sam Michaels Park in the Harpers Ferry area. This video, which we're happy to share, features WVCA Conservation Specialist Hanna Weikert discussing many of the recent BMPs helping to improve water quality in the Elks Run watershed. It should be noted too that many volunteers from different organizations and agencies have contributed to tree plantings and other positive efforts at Sam Michaels Park and elsewhere within the watershed. You can also find a link to the video on our WVCA Facebook page and the West Virginia Chesapeake Bay Program Facebook page.
